This whitish star has an ashen companion visible only
at X144 power. It sits inside Scorpio's sting and easily found for southern
observers.
Ambience: Early Saturday evening is not an ideal viewing time as car headlights come and go. Neighbours' lights were then a worry and strange low rumbling sounds puzzled me for some time until I discovered some neighboring kids were skate-boarding off their front verandah into the dark beyond. Vesta, again easily spotted, moves noticeably each evening as it travels west in retrograde motion. Venus spotted in early twilight. |
