Poor starry field. The pair was identified very easily because of the wide separation. At 71x, both components did look yellowish and were shinning very similar.

This tiny pair was close in magnitude; I could just make out a slight 
difference. The primary looked a very pale bluish, with a darker grey-blue

Magnification
 
A pair of mag 7 stars oriented more or less north-south. 
Clearly split at any power, they both appeared blue to me. Part of a 
triangular asterism pointing to the west, comprised of about a mag 8 and
