Again a favourite of mine and a wonderful sight with low power when Iota
is in the same FOV. Kappa gets a rating 1 on the Harshaw-scale, even
though both stars do not show color, they are "just" white.

Finally a very bright double star! It's very easy with its components pretty distant. The primary is very bright, white to yellowish. The secondary is fainter but still bright for my eye, its colour is particular: about lilac (!). Both stars show interrupted rings. Extimated PA about 240 degrees. Fine pair well suitable for small instruments; fine and curious secondary colour.

This bright pair stood out among the fainter doubles observed tonight, as if to punctuate my observing session with an exclamation point. The primary (Kappa 2) was white with perhaps the faintest tinge of yellow; the companion (Kappa 1) was the palest of blues. It was nice to see some color, subtle though it was.

For the difference in magnitude, it is perceptible but light. The principal component is blanchatre with weak yellow reflections, the secondary component is bluish. Separation is easily perceptible to the 17 Misters His with dimensions esthetics is very marked because of the brightness of the components and of separation (close stars). Lionel thus sees principal the bleuatre,la secondary jaunatre the opposite of me! Franck saw principal the bleuatre and it secondary bleuatre with weak reflections rougeatres! It should be noted that the principal one is of A5 type thus of bluish color:))
