Struve 877 was the best
view of this evening! A beautiful double in a very rich field.
Struve 877 sits in the middel of a oblique string of mag. 9 stars running ZW to NE, 45' NE of Xi Ori. The stars are both white. Low magnification, 50 to 100x give the best view, combining the beautiful double with the rich surroundings. Don't forget to go 50' to
the SW from Xi Ori when you are in this region. You will find the small
open cluster NGC2169 which contains the very nice multiple star Struve
848 there.
