a faint blue (?) comes. Very attractive.

The only Herschel binary among "the 33 Doubles in Orion", h2268 has an ample separation of 27.1". It consists of a 7th magnitude G5 primary star (not unlike the sun's spectral class), and a 9.5 magnitude companion at a position angle of 300 degrees. | |||

I made five
measurements with the Micro-Guide and got an average of 27.4" in PA 296
(compared to the 1918 measurements of 27" in PA 300). The pair was difficult
to measure due to the faintness of the companion.
I estimated colors of yellowish-white (G5) and white.

Clear night
with a warm light NW breeze, near Full Moon, but with seeing like looking
up from the bottom of a swimming pool. Difficult to see companion

to the NW of the primary.

This star was
easily found just to the east of Struve 701. Primary seen as yellowish,
no color seen in companion. When I saw this companion, I estimated the
PA as 310*, comparing favorably with the given value of 300*. I used an
18mm Radian for 51X.

at 48x, although the secondary is faint. I suspect that high, thin clouds

is too faint for color. Separation is 32”, PA 297d.
