Date & Time: July/9/01 0500 to 0635 UT
Seeing: 7 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>.
Location of site: Killeen, TX, USA
Site classification: Suburban
Sky darkness: 4 <Limiting magnitude>

Fairly tight, at first I didn't get the split at low power. I went to mid power and was able to split it.

Seeing: 6 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>.
Location of site: Lake Oswego, Oregon
Site classification: Suburban
Sky darkness: 4.0 <Limiting magnitude>

Eyepieces:  18mm Radian, 7mm Ortho
Magnification: 112x, 285x
Est PA without inst.....270d
No observable color
Very, very dim companion.  A light form rising moon reaches toward the zenith, the companion is very close to LM.  Clearly visible at 112x.  Much better at 285 x.

Dim but interesting field.  Very linear with lots of triangles and triangles within triangles.

Star: Struve 2397
Date & Time: 21st, July, 2001. 21:00 – 23:05UT
Seeing: 7-8 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>
Transparency: 3-4 <0:worst -10:best >
Location of site: Quintueles, Gijón, Spain.  43º 32N, 5º 55W. Altitude: 20 m.
Site classification: Suburban
Sky darkness: 3.0 - 3.5 <Limiting magnitude>
Temperature: about 15º C
Conditions: A lot of haze and moisture. Seeing is rather good, but haze actuates like a light diffusor and that makes difficult observe stars fainter that 10
magnitude.
Humidity: about 90%
Telescope: Vixen 102 4" achromatic refractor
Eyepieces: 35, 10 and 5mm Baader-Planetarium Eudiascopics
Magnification: 100x, 200x
Harschaw Scale: 3 <From 1 to 5. 1 = Great, 5 = poor interest>
At 100x, a light split is already perceived, but as something really difficult. I take note of the position of the faint secondary, located really near to the main component. In fact, this double seems more tighter than any of the doubles from Epsilon Lyrae. At 200x, the position angle is
confirmed and makes a more easy split, although the secondary component comes and goes.

Another fact that adds some difficulty is the awkward position of observation. The refractor is pointing in this moment towards zenith and while observing sitting on a chair, this implies to maintain the breathing while observing, being the last thing you need to study faint pairs.
Although this star has been the most difficult double in this observing session, it has been a nice fight!

Seeing: 8 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>.
Location of site: Annen, The Netherlands - 53N, 6E
Site classification: Village backyard
Sky darkness: 5 <Limiting magnitude>
Telescope: Celestron C-11
Eyepieces: Ultima 30mm , TV plossl 20mm, LV 15mm, 7mm
Magnification: 93x, 140x
Harshaw Scale: 2 <1-5; 1 best>
STF2397 is another nice double in a rich field. Best view was with 140x, just a bit too close for 93x.

The stars show a yellow (A) and blue (B) color.

Conditions: Clean skies and warm temperatures.
Sky darkness: 4.5 <Limiting magnitude>
Telescope: 6inch/f5 newt
Magnification: 120x

Marks the N end of a small almost equilateral triangle. Though w/~ 5x difference in brightness and not even 4" of sep., but I did it nonetheless at 120x.
