Moderately tight, I ot a probable split the first time I looked at it at low power. I confirmed thyis by going to mid power and then back to low power and was able to make a definate split this time. the primary I see as blue and I got a tinge of yellow of the fainter one.

John M. Ryan
Star: Struve 2390
Date & Time: 19 July 2001 ( 22:00 UT ).
Seeing: 6+ <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>.
Location of site: Barreras, Salamanca, Spain.
Site classification: Rural,Suburban.
Conditions: no moon, fairly dry but with gusts of wind.
Sky darkness: 5+, some light due to street lights in the village. <Limiting magnitude>
Telescope: Meade 7" Mak Cas mounted on a Losmandy GM8.
Eyepieces: 12mm plossl
Magnification: 223X
Harshaw Scale: 3 <1-5; 1 best>
Nice split at 223X. Mag difference also here seems greater than listed. Both white.

Ambience: Last week the weather here in Spain was on the cool and cloudy side. There was a large low pressure system centered over England and the wind from the north was on the chilly side. Last week it was very cloudy almost all week but both Tues. and Thurs. nights cleared up sufficiently to get the telescope set up. I spent the first half of each night working with the Microguide for the Project of Richard Harshaw. Afterwards I was able to get five doubles in Lyra each night. The nights were quiet but the seeing was a lot worse than the week before with continuing gusts of wind. The village was a lot more animated due to the arrival of families of vacacioners that have homes or relatives in the village. There is only one little boy who lives permanently in the village but in the summer that goes up to about ten and everyone stays out late until One or Two AM laughing, singing and storying telling. While I was looking for doubles you could feel the gayety in the village.I noted that all nine doubles in this report were discovered by the elder Señor Struve. What would we have done in the Spirit of 33 without the Sturve team of father and son.

Date & Time: 21st, July, 2001. 21:00 – 23:05UT
Seeing: 7-8 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>
Transparency: 3-4 <0:worst -10:best >
Location of site: Quintueles, Gijón, Spain.  43º 32N, 5º 55W. Altitude: 20 m.
Site classification: Suburban
Sky darkness: 3.0 - 3.5 <Limiting magnitude>
Temperature: about 15º C
Conditions: A lot of haze and moisture. Seeing is rather good, but haze actuates like a light diffusor and that makes difficult observe stars fainter that 10
magnitude.
Humidity: about 90%
Telescope: Vixen 102 4" achromatic refractor
Eyepieces: 35, 10 and 5mm Baader-Planetarium Eudiascopics
Magnification: 100x
Harschaw Scale: 3 <From 1 to 5. 1 = Great, 5 = poor interest>
A bit more difficult to split than Struve 2481 A-Bc, it appears rather tough at 100x but splittable without problems. In this moment of observation, the "Ambience" varies due to a car crosses the small road at one side of the village (traffic is about 2 or 3 vehicles/day). I close my eyes and after, I seize the opportunity for applying another "hot cloth" to the Vixen tube for about 1 minute for preventing dew. The position for observing is so unconfortable that I must to relocate the mirror diagonal and to observe laterally. The neck starts to ache a bit!

A fairly obvious split at x60, much better view at x96 and best at x133. An easy pair, nothing remarkable about this object. Primary white, comes showed a greyish cast.
