Location of site: Killeen, TX, USA Site classification: Suburban Sky darkness: 4 <Limiting magnitude> Temperature: In the 80's F (30's C). Slight breeze. another wide pair if rather
faint. Easily split at low power. Possibly blue although it is rather hard
to tell from the faintness.

Struve 2376
Date & Time: 19 July 2001 ( 21:30 UT ). Seeing: 6+ <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>. Location of site: Barreras, Salamanca, Spain. Site classification: Rural,Suburban. Conditions: no moon, fairly dry but with gusts of wind. Sky darkness: 5+, some light due to street lights in the village. <Limiting magnitude> Telescope: Meade 7" Mak Cas mounted on a Losmandy GM8. Eyepieces: 20mm plossl Magnification: 134X Harshaw Scale: 3 <1-5; 1 best> |
This was the third wide one in a row easily split at 134X like the previous two. Both white.

| Star:
Struve 2376
Date & Time: 21st, July, 2001. 21:00 – 23:05UT Seeing: 7-8 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)> Transparency: 3-4 <0:worst -10:best > Location of site: Quintueles, Gijón, Spain. 43º 32N, 5º 55W. Altitude: 20 m. Site classification: Suburban Sky darkness: 3.0 - 3.5 <Limiting magnitude> Temperature: about 15º C Conditions: A lot of haze and moisture. Seeing is rather good, but haze actuates like a light diffusor and that makes difficult observe stars fainter that 10 magnitude. Humidity: about 90% Telescope: Vixen 102 4" achromatic refractor Eyepieces: 35, 10 and 5mm Baader-Planetarium Eudiascopics Magnification: 100x Harschaw Scale: -- <From 1 to 5. 1 = Great, 5 = poor interest> |
A bit more easier to split than Struve 2380, at 100x a big space is observed between the faint components of this double. The difference of magnitudes is really small and I can't observe coloration. Really near there is another star with an estimated magnitude of 11 that I can observe only with averted vision. I don't know in this moment if this star has a membership to this system.

(w/2367 & a pretty optical
pair): Easy at 40x; a pretty pair - a ** - in a nice field with STF 2367
(Luïs, why was it not included?), and this 8½ / 9¼ -
red/blue pair about 40' SSW. I estimated STF 2376 at ~ 17" - ENE/EEN (WDS:
22.3 - 64°; 1991)
