A tight pair with a wide
3rd member. I was only able to get an elongation on the tight pair by going
up to high power.

I probably stumbled on a
period of good seeing while observing this close double (0.9").
At 400x I had a real good view with sharp star-images, some parts of diffractionrings around them and a clear, almost "wide" separation between them. Taking 0.9" as the distance between the centers of the stars I estimate the black gap between the star-images to be about 0.3". |

Primary......white
Est PA AC without inst....270d AC is a wide double and easily split at any power. The best I was able to do with AB was to get an elongation at approximately right angles to AC. Made a single CMG measurement of 48.77" separation of AC . Nice, busy field. |

The greatest challenge I
faced that night. But thanks to the seeing (which had improved by then
to close to 9/10), and the relative brightness of the stars, at 260x I
got it, an unmistakable split, but by short bursts.

Ambience: one could sense/smell/feel
the touch of autumn; a little bit cooler, a little bit less humid.
A beautiful night to observe.
