turned out to be a wide slightly Mauve pair sitting in an arrow of faint
stars pointing westwards.

Widest
one of the night, well almost. But very faint pair of equal magnitude stars
oriented north/south. Both look bluish again.
Measurement: 4.3 sec at 188 deg PA.
