Although a 2.8" wide pair of 6.5/8.5 stars I failed to split this pair. The fact that I observed them immediately followed the light feast of Alpha Cent may have something to do with it. I will return.

This star lies close to Hadar, the unsplittable and is easily found by star-hopping in the area of the Pointers. Hartung suggests this star is an easy split and a long period  for this pair with little change and an attractive field.

Comments: I found the primary a Light Blue colour with its fainter companion to the North. The field is very rich field with a Crux look-alike to the west and a bright star in the eastern segment of the field at low power. HS 3.

Tight unequal double – no colour noted.

Notes Needed to go to 200x to split this double located slightly south of A and B Cent. If double was any closer the secondary would be lost in the glare.

Little bit tight double, only separable at higher magnifications (as 267x). At this power, any differential colour is evident, just white (both). A is brighter than B.
