I can't really say I split this one. Sometime I thought I could with averted vision, but then it would go. Just too tough given the conditions. Will need to try again.

Flanked by two stars on the upper left and two on the lower right, this one was tough. With a separation of 3.5" I couldn't figure out why I was having such a hard time till I looked up and saw the high cirrus clouds veiling Cassiopeia. Since I'd already located the target though, I kept kicking up the magnification till I finally got a black split at 226x.

A pretty tight pair, just split at low power and confirmed at mid power. The secondary is much dimmer, at an estimated PA of about 300d. Despite the magnitude contrast, the companion is still quite noticable. A pretty tight pair, just split at low power and confirmed at mid power.
