Wide enough to get a black split at 63x.
Both stars white.

Ok.. dawn got me on this one. Even though it shouldn't be too difficult, I
just couldn't squeeze a split out of them.

So.. out of 33 doubles in Cassiopeia, I still need four but they'll have to wait a bit till we get darker, steady skies. It's a shame the moonglow was such a factor tonight because the skies were quite steady.I realized while packing up that not one satellite zipped through the eyepiece all night.. very odd, but they might have been bleached out by the moonlight :-)

Actually, this double was never 'shy'... just overpowered by the
light of dawn last time I tried it on July 12-13. But it was a nice
easy finish after the previous three 'diffraction doubles'.
The system consists of AB and AC. Our target is AB.
63x showed a field of few bright stars, and when STT 50 is placed at
the right side of the field, there is a small asterism to the left
which resembles the Hercules Keystone.
406x showed a very clean split of AB, with C floating above.
