With Sirius as my starting
point it was a short hop north to find this dim double.
Comments: Low power failed to yield any results from this Bluish/white star and at high power the split was barely noticed. Some instability in the atmosphere early in the viewing session. This is a rich field with another bright star to the north. Ambience: By now the increasing
smoke caused sky glow and the pungent fumes of incineration are around
me. The once verdant lawn is parched; nature is silent and I cannot help
but brood on humans and wild-life desperately fleeing the encroaching fires.
This time there is a menacing force abroad to match the wanton destruction

At low and mid power this
was elongated, barely split at high power.

Easy to find from Sirius,
this star proved more difficult to split than expected. In the end I used
x267 to confirm an apparent split in the moments of better seeing at x133.
At the higher power the image was not good though and was probably about
the maximum useable in the conditions. No colour was apparent.
