The story of OS 298 is just
the other way around as with STF1834. After the nice and easy split
of STF1834 I turned to this double, expecting a similar easy split. But
no way. Nothing to be seen...
Yes, there were two bright
stars, but 122" apart. The star on the position

Although Otto Struve 288 had allready warned me I still had a go at this one. Seeing was still preventing me from splitting these stars. At moments of good seeing and use 360x magnification I could see them elongated at best. The closer double like Zeta Bootes is often easier to split in my view. | |||
