The story of OS 298 is just the other way around as with STF1834. After the  nice and easy split of STF1834 I turned to this double, expecting a similar easy split. But  no way. Nothing to be seen...

Yes, there were two bright stars, but 122" apart. The star on the position
mentioned in the  33-list was absolutely not double. I tried 400x on it, but nothing there. Unfortunately the  clouds came in and I didn't have e real good look at high power, but checking out Hyparchos  later I suppose a good look wouldn't have helped :
The distance of the stars A and B of OS298 was only 0.32" in 1991...
What I did see of this multiple system was AB - C, where AB together is mag.
6.8 and C 7.6.

For fun I will try AB with my CG11 at 500x sometime

Although Otto Struve 288 had allready warned me I still had a go at this one. Seeing was still preventing me from splitting these stars. At moments of good seeing and use 360x magnification I could see them elongated at best. The closer double like Zeta Bootes is often easier to split in my view.
